Toronto’s first Caribbean inspired 5K Run/Walk to encourage wellness and community involvement. Caribbean carnival theme
New Toronto Caribbean Carnival approved event
TORONTO, ON – It’s time to lace up and hit the trails for a spirited 5K run/walk and kids 1K run with a Caribbean carnival theme. The Toronto Carnival Run is Canada’s first and only Caribbean inspired fun race and takes place one week prior to the world renowned Toronto Caribbean Carnival along the same route of the Grand Parade. Run to the beat of the drum while enjoying this fast, flat course! The event will begin with a Caribbean inspired warm up, carnival inspired music, entertainment, and participants will enjoy a Caribbean inspired breakfast at the completion of the race. Proceeds from this event will go to The Simunye Foundation, a not for profit organization committed to helping the Afro-Caribbean community toward positive lifestyle changes.

About The Simunye Foundation
Simunye in Zulu means "we are one" (i.e. "unity is strength"). The purpose of The Simunye Foundation is to unite, empower and enlighten the Afro-Caribbean community toward positive lifestyle changes through individual health and wellness promotion, career and business development, and arts and cultural support. Its goal is to raise money to build The Simunye Lifestyle Centre which will be a space owned and operated by the Afro-Caribbean community to uplift the community’s social and economic initiatives.
